Opportunity
Nomba, a leading provider of payment solutions to over 235,000 businesses across Africa, offers a range of terminals including Nomba Mini, Nomba Lite, Nomba Pro, and Nomba Max which is used to accept online and offline payments from their customers. However, during the launch of new products such as Nomba Mini and Nomba Max, it was observed that the purchase journey for terminals was cumbersome, resulting in a significant drop-off rate. This was primarily due to the requirement for businesses to repeatedly register or log in during the purchase process.
To address this issue and enhance the sales of our new products, we implemented a streamlined terminal purchase process directly through our website. This eliminated the need for businesses to log in or register every time they wished to purchase a Nomba terminal.

DESIGN GOAL
Develop a seamless purchasing experience on the Nomba website, facilitating businesses in procuring POS terminals directly. Aim to achieve a milestone of 1,000,000 purchases for both Nomba Mini and Nomba Max by the end of 2024.
OUTCOME
We designed and built the end-to-end flow that allows businesses purchase terminals directly from our website, which led to a 75% increase in sale.
Old Terminal purchase flow
This was the previous flow businesses encountered when attempting to purchase a terminal from our website. It proved to be excessively lengthy for both first-time users and existing business owners, resulting in significant drop-offs in the process.
New Terminal purchase flow
Following thorough research, we identified an opportunity and embarked on reworking the purchasing flow for terminals directly through our website. This strategic overhaul significantly simplified the process, enabling businesses to effortlessly procure terminals with ease.

Terminal Landing Page
To boost sales, we developed a dedicated landing page facilitating direct purchases of available terminals. Through several iterations, we refined our approach, culminating in our final version, Iteration 4, showcased in the image below.
Nomba Terminal Purchase
As a business owner seeking to acquire a new terminal from the Nomba website, you now have the convenient option to make direct purchases Simply select your desired terminal, provide your contact details for follow-up, and proceed to make payment.
Payment
The journey for business owners in purchasing terminals is pivotal, requiring seamless payment processing prior to terminal delivery. In our MVP version, we provided customers with a single payment option: bank transfer. This expedited development within our time constraints while ensuring a foundational payment mechanism was in place. Following a successful order, a comprehensive email containing all pertinent details is promptly dispatched to the customer. This email serves as a means to maintain ongoing communication and keep the customer informed about the status and details of their order.
